Terms of Service

Last updated: July 19, 2026

1. Who we are

Bedtime Atelier ("we", "us") operates bedtimeatelier.com, a subscription service that delivers personalized bedtime stories for children by email, optionally narrated as audio. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. The service

Each night, we write a new story personalized to the child profile(s) you create (name, age, favourites, optional pet) and deliver it by email around 7 PM in the time zone you set, with a copy in your dashboard. Stories are generated with artificial intelligence and reviewed by an automated safety system before delivery. Depending on your plan, stories may also be narrated: in one of our signature voices, or in a voice generated from your own recording ("Your Voice").

We aim for delivery every night but can't promise perfection — email providers, networks, and occasional technical issues are outside our full control. If a story is late or missing, contact us and we'll make it right.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 to create an account. You are the customer; your child is never our user. Sign-in is by one-time code sent to your email — keep access to that email secure, as anyone with it can access your account.

4. Plans, pricing, and billing

Current plans, in USD, billed monthly through Stripe:

Each additional child on the same plan is billed at 75% of the base price (25% off). Alternatively, 2–3 siblings may share one "together" story each night at a flat monthly price: $6.99 (written), $12.99 (premium voice), or $14.99 (your voice).

Every new subscription starts with a 3-day free trial. Your payment method is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Prices may change; we'll give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email before any increase applies to them. Taxes may be added where required by law.

5. Canceling and refunds

Cancel anytime from your dashboard's billing page. Cancellation stops future charges; your service continues to the end of the period already paid. If something went wrong on our side — you were charged after canceling, or the service materially failed — email us and we'll refund the affected charge. Otherwise, payments for periods already started are non-refundable except where the law says differently.

6. Your Voice: recordings and voice cloning

The Your Voice plan creates a synthetic copy of a voice from a recording you provide. You may only record your own voice, or the voice of another adult who has given you their clear permission. By uploading a recording, you confirm this, and you grant us permission to use it for exactly one purpose: generating story narrations for the children on your account.

Your recording and generated voice are stored privately, are never made public, are never used to narrate for other families, and are never sold or shared. You can replace your recording anytime. If you ask us to delete it (or you close your account), we delete the recording and the generated voice model. Previously delivered story audio in your inbox remains yours.

7. Content and acceptable use

Stories are for your family's personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may read, keep, print, and share them within your household. You may not resell stories or narrations, republish them commercially, or use the service to generate content for anyone outside your household. Don't submit profile information that is offensive, infringing, or designed to manipulate the story system, and don't attempt to misuse the voice feature — we may suspend accounts that do.

Stories are fiction generated by AI. We review them automatically for child-appropriateness, and we design the system to keep every story gentle — but you know your child best, and you're welcome to preview any story before sharing it.

8. Children's privacy

Child profile information (first name, age, favourites, pet) is provided by you, used only to personalize stories, and handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We never contact children, advertise to them, or knowingly collect information from them directly.

9. Intellectual property

The service, site, brand, and story-generation system are ours. The stories delivered to you are licensed to you for personal family use as described above. Your recordings remain yours; you license them to us only for the narrow purpose in section 6.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under applicable law, including Ontario consumer protection law.

11. Changes and termination

We may update the service and these Terms; material changes will be announced by email or on the site with reasonable notice. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account anytime.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Questions, cancellations, refunds, deletions: [email protected]. We answer every email.
